Male Velana International Airport now has a much larger duty free shopping area in the new Terminal 1, which opened in July 2025. Compared with the former terminal, the new Terminal 1 shopping area feels more spacious and easier to browse. Open walkways, illuminated counters, wall displays and boutique-style brand areas create a more modern retail environment. After completing departure formalities, passengers can shop for beauty products, fragrances, jewelry, watches, accessories, liquor, tobacco, snacks and souvenirs before heading to the gates.

Male Velana Airport Duty Free offers a large selection of perfumes, cosmetics and skincare products from international beauty and fragrance brands, including Dior, Chanel, Guerlain, Tom Ford, Prada, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Armani, Givenchy, Gucci, Carolina Herrera, Chloé, Clarins, La Mer, Sisley, Issey Miyake, Hermès, Acqua di Parma, Kilian Paris, Paco Rabanne, Kiehl’s and MAC.

Wider walkways and clearer separation between product categories make the updated retail space easier to explore.
Liquor and Tobacco
Male Airport Duty Free offers liquor and tobacco products for departing international passengers. Liquor brands available at Male Duty Free include The Macallan, Bacardi, Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Royal Salute, Chivas Regal, Aberlour, Hendrick’s, Zacapa, Ballantine’s, Beefeater, Skyy Vodka and Laphroaig.
Wines, spirits and tobacco products are sold in the departures shopping area, making them convenient for passengers leaving the Maldives.
