Male Velana International Airport (IATA: MLE, ICAO: VRMM) is the main international airport in the Maldives. It is located on Hulhule Island in the North Male Atoll, near the capital island Male.
Male Velana International Airport New Terminal Opening 26 July, 2025
Starting 26 July, 2025, the new Terminal 1 at Male Velana International Airport will officially open. During the transition period, both Terminal 1 (new) and Terminal 2 (current) will be in operation.
Please check with your airline to confirm which terminal your flight will depart from.
All international flights will gradually shift to Terminal 1 in the near future.
Male airport is the main gateway into the Maldives islands for tourists. It is currently the only airport in the country offering international flights.
